11TH ANNUAL SCOTT SMED INVITATIONAL RAISES RECORD FUNDS!

September 19, 2011 was a day of golf that truly made a difference. BOWEN Workforce Solutions proudly presented the 11th Annual Scott Smed Invitational golf tournament at Cottonwood Golf and Country Club. The sell-out tournament raised $120,000, which is a record amount for this event. The money raised will give the gift of food, hope and play to vulnerable families in our community and will go to support the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, Parks Foundation Calgary and pregnancy and infancy loss programs. In total, the Scott Smed tournament has raised $760,000, leaving a legacy of hope for children and families who need it most. For more information on our 2012 tournament, email mpope@bowenworks.ca.

Playground Build – June 2011

In June 2011, BOWEN Workforce Solutions and Boardwalk Equities partnered with Parks Foundation Calgary to help build a brand new playground in the community of Applewood. It was an incredible four days as our employees, volunteers and local families worked side-by-side to create a fully accessible, kid-inspired play space that will bring much joy to children living in this area. The playground is dedicated in memory of Scott Smed and was made possible through the generosity of supporters of the Scott Smed Invitational.
